Assessment Results
The total score of the Index by years, which enables one to assess the level of transparency of the entire energy sector of Ukraine. Additionally, scores are provided for each Index category, which reflect various aspects of the functioning of the country's energy industry. Use of the Index
Examples of practical use of the Energy Transparency Index of Ukraine, including implementation of the Index recommendations by market players and use of the Index by government agencies in their own activities.
International Energy Transparency Index
The international version of the Index, which allows for a comprehensive comparison of the transparency in the energy sectors of different countries. This comparison promotes healthy competition between participating countries and the dissemination of best practices. The International Index is applied to 4 countries - Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Romania.
Index - part of the reporting framework on the implementation of SDG7 "Affordable and clean energy"
At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the Energy Transparency Index score became one of the indicators of Ukraine's progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 "Affordable and clean energy". Integration into the official reporting framework of the sustainable development goals is an additional incentive for taking into account the recommendations of the Index by the competent public authorities.
Ukrnafta uses the results of the Index to improve its transparency
The largest oil producer and owner of the largest single-brand network of petroleum stations in Ukraine, PJSC "Ukrnafta" turned to the Index team for targeted recommendations on improving its own transparency. One of the recommendations provided - the publication of a map with up-to-date prices for petroleum products at stations - was implemented through the update of the Ukrnafta mobile application.
